My cornerstone philosophy for success is to start with building a relationship with each child and their parents. My mission is to provide a developmentally appropriate plan for your child and your family specializing in the whole child.
As a middle school child, I was drawn to the smiles of individuals with special needs and the gleam in their eyes of love and honesty. I started my career path at 14 working summers at the Abbie Rogers Civitan Camp. Then as a professional, I began to work across various environments, with amazing individuals, and accumulated knowledge from parents, speech pathologists, OT's, PT's, general ed. and special ed. teachers, DIR specialists, reading specialists, professors, doctors, psychologists, and most of all an enormous number of special needs children. From these experiences and knowledge, I have learned to work from a holistic point of view by combining work across as many domains of development as possible during each activity. I truly believe that developing a personal relationship with the child and their parents is essential for success. I always look forward to new experiences as I become part of each family's team!
Professional Experience
Over 25 years of experience teaching, evaluating and implementing individual educational plans for children with special needs including 9 years at The Lionheart School.
Nearly 10 years using the DIR/FT methodology with children with autism and other challenges of relating and communicating.
Worked in the public and private sectors and in individualized home-based sessions.
